Jane Hong

Music Therapist, BMT, MTA, MT-BC, NMT
Piano Instructor, ATCL Piano Diploma

Jane graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours Bachelor of Music Therapy and Minor in Psychology. She studied piano under Heather Taves and Tania Gill, and worked closely with Dr. Colin Lee during her music therapy studies. She completed her clinical internship working with geriatrics and adults with special needs. Additionally, Jane shadowed Cat Suet Yan Chau, who pioneered Hong Kong’s first music therapy centre operated by a government registered charity organization. She is currently accredited with the Canadian Association of Music Therapy (CAMT) and the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) in the USA. She has also received training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) from Dr. Michael and Corene Thaut.

Jane is currently working in several ethnic long term care homes, rehabilitation hospitals and special needs centres. She specializes in providing music therapy to the Chinese community.  She also teaches adaptive piano lessons for students with special needs, along with general piano lessons.

Alvin Chan

Alvin graduated with a Honours Bachelor of Music Therapy and Minor in Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University where he studied piano with Dr. Joseph Ferretti and studied music therapy under Dr. Colin Lee and Cheryl Jones.  In the past, he has studied classical piano closely with the Russian concert pianist, Dr. Vladimir Dounin for over 15 years.  He has completed his clinical internship in long-term care facilities, senior homes, and special needs centres. He has worked with children, adults, and seniors with physical and cognitive disabilities. Alvin has received Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) training from Dr. Michael and Corene Thaut. 

Alvin has taught a variety of students from all ages and experience for many years.  He is able to teach from basic to advance music theory and history. He is currently working with various clients with Parkinson's, stroke, and dementia. As well as teaching piano at Cosmo Music and privately.  




Louise Ho

Louise graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours Bachelor of Music Therapy and a Minor in Psychology.  She completed her 1000-hour clinical internship working in long-term care facilities and special needs centres, working with seniors and children with special needs. She studied piano under Heather Taves and Tania Gill, and music therapy under Dr. Colin Lee and Cheryl Jones. She has also studied piano privately under John Loomis and voice lessons with Joy Tappenden.  Louise has her ARCT diploma in both piano and voice.  She has received Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) training under Dr. Michael and Corene Thaut. 

Louise has taught piano for 12 years both privately and at various music studios such as the Mississauga Piano Studio (MPS) and Long & McQuade. She also teaches Classical singing and art/illustration privately, and works closely with students with special needs. She is currently working with clients with depression, visual impairment, Parkinson's and dementia.
